i’m really irked by kang sora’s character out of all the leads. i mean, take last season where hyemi’s and baekhee’s duality as characters was so rich. i had moments where i felt secondhand-triumph and then moments of secondhand-why the fuck would you do that. that’s what i’d considered the making of a good character. one that you root for, despite their endless shortcomings and mistakes.” which, to this point, hyesung isn’t. she’s constantly reaffirmed by those around her that she’s a good person. her mistakes are glossed over, and it’s almost the writer is underestimating the audience’s ability to sympathize—which frankly, gets annoying. i liked flawed characters who get put in their place, it gives me a chance to wince at their failures and really invest myself in seeing them succeed.
